Should you spend Robux on this amazing game?

This is the question every Roblox player asks before buying Premium or a Robux pack. The honest answer: it depends on how much you play and what you spend on. We tested every Robux purchase in this amazing game against the free grind and broke down which ones pay off.

How we did the maths

Every calculation in this guide uses the same baseline:

• Free player earns ~2,500 Points and ~600 Rocoin per day on average.
• 1 Robux ≈ 100 Points of effective grinding time, using the most efficient free route.
• Premium costs 4.99 USD ≈ 500 Robux ≈ 50,000 Points of grinding.

That last number is the key one. To break even on Premium, you need to extract at least 50,000 Points of value from the Premium perks per month.

We tested each perk individually.

Perk 1 — +25% Points on all sources

A free player earns ~2,500 Points per day. With Premium you earn ~3,125 — a delta of 625 Points per day, or 18,750 Points per month.

That’s worth about 187 Robux of grinding. Less than half the cost of Premium.

Verdict: Not worth it on its own.

Perk 2 — +10% Rocoin on all sources

A free player earns ~600 Rocoin per day. With Premium you earn ~660 — a delta of 60 Rocoin per day, or 1,800 Rocoin per month.

Rocoin is harder to convert to a Robux equivalent, but using the catalog’s average Rocoin→Points conversion, this is worth about 60 Robux of grinding per month.

Verdict: Not worth it on its own.

Perk 3 — One extra daily wheel spin

The daily wheel pays 50–800 Points per spin. Average: ~250 Points. The extra spin pays ~7,500 Points per month, worth about 75 Robux.

Verdict: Marginal. Better than perks 1–2 individually, but still not enough.

Perk 4 — Exclusive Premium cosmetic

This is the swing perk. Some months the cosmetic is worth 5,000 Robux on the Roblox marketplace; some months it’s worth 500 Robux. We average it at 200 Robux.

Verdict: Variable. Skip the month if the cosmetic looks bad.

Perk 5 — Premium badge

This one is purely social. No Robux value. If you care about the badge, the math is irrelevant.

Total Premium value

Adding up perks 1–4: 187 + 60 + 75 + 200 = ~520 Robux of value per month, against a 500 Robux cost. The math says Premium just barely breaks even for an active player.

If you play less than 60 minutes per day, skip Premium. The perks only matter if you’re playing enough to extract value from the +25% boost.

If you play more than 90 minutes per day and you care about the monthly cosmetic, Premium is a marginal buy. Just don’t expect to come out ahead in raw Robux value.

Robux pack purchases

The Roblox catalog offers three Robux packs for this amazing game: 80 Robux, 400 Robux and 1,000 Robux. We compared each one against what you can earn in-game for the same currency.

• 80 Robux pack (1.99 USD) — pays for itself if it you would have spent 2 hours grinding instead. Worth it.

3. No other Robux purchases — every other Premium item loses to the free grind.

Don’t spend Robux on:

• Premium coin packs. They’re mathematically worse than free grinding for the same currency.
• Limited skins with no Points bonus.
• Anything in the Common Mistakes trap list.

The free player verdict

A free player can complete every catalog item in this amazing game. The grind takes about 4–6 weeks for an active free player, vs 1–2 weeks for a Premium player. The free grind is slower but completely viable.

When Premium is worth it

The math changes if you care about:

• The monthly cosmetic (subjective, not math).
• Server-hopping to optimise the daily wheel (more relevant for veterans).
• The Premium badge in chat (subjective).

If you don’t care about any of these, skip Premium and use the free grind. You’ll finish the catalog a few weeks later and you’ll have spent zero Robux.

What changes the math

Every major update re-prices the Premium perks. The Updates hub re-tests this math within 48 hours of any patch. If a future update changes Premium perks (extra daily spins, new boosts, etc.), this guide will be updated first.
